Turn one video into 10 clips

Repurpose one long video or recorded call into 10 short clips with captions, so a single recording feeds two weeks of posts.

Step 6 of the Create Quality Content pathway. You already record things: a webinar, a client call, a talk, a podcast, even a phone video walking to your car. This chapter turns one of those into 10 short clips with captions. One recording, two weeks of content. That's the highest-leverage move in this whole pathway.

Worth it: this replaces a full afternoon of "what do I post" for the price of one transcript.

The one thing you need: a transcript. No fancy editing software. Most video platforms and phone recorders can export a transcript or captions file. If yours can't, upload the audio to a free transcription tool and copy the text.

Keep it private. If the recording includes client details, financials, or anything sensitive, run this in your private AI workspace instead of a public chatbot.

The workflow (20-30 min):

  1. Get the transcript. Export it or transcribe the audio. Paste the full text.
  2. Find the moments. Run the prompt below. AI reads the whole transcript and pulls the 10 strongest standalone moments.
  3. Grab the timestamps. Each clip comes with an approximate start/end so you know exactly which 30-60 seconds to cut.
  4. Cut and caption. Use your phone or any free editor to trim those segments. Paste the caption AI wrote under each.

The prompt. Pairs with your Voice Card (Ch2) so captions sound like you, and your hooks (Ch4) so each clip opens strong.

Role: You are a short-form video producer.
Objective: Find the 10 best short clips inside this recording and write a caption for each.
Assets:
- Transcript with timestamps: [PASTE FULL TRANSCRIPT]
- My audience: [WHO THEY ARE]
- My Voice Card: [PASTE VOICE CARD]
Deliverable: A table of 10 clips. For each:
1. Clip title (5 words max)
2. Approx start-end timestamp
3. Why it works as a standalone clip (one line)
4. A scroll-stopping first line to overlay on the clip
5. A caption in my voice (2-4 sentences) ending with one simple call to action
6. 3 relevant hashtags
Rank the clips strongest to weakest. No hype. Output only the table.

Batch the cutting. Do all 10 trims in one sitting: same app, same settings, back to back. It's 10x faster than one at a time. Save clips numbered 01-10.

Reuse the leftovers. Weak moments that didn't make a clip? They're still text posts. Feed them into the Chapter 3 week-of-posts prompt.

Next: Chapter 7 folds this into a repeatable weekly sprint that batches a full month at once.
