The welcome / nurture sequence
Write a 4-email welcome sequence with AI that turns a cold form-fill into a warm lead: build trust, answer objections, and earn the reply, all on autopilot after the first setup.
Copy & run
**Step 3 of this pathway.** A new contact just landed on your list (chapter 2). They're curious but cold. The welcome sequence warms them up automatically: a handful of emails over the first week or two that build trust and make the next step obvious. You'll draft the whole thing with AI in one sitting. **What a good nurture sequence does.** It skips the hard sell: it earns attention by being useful, then asks. A proven 4-email shape: - **Email 1: Welcome (sent immediately).** Confirm they're in, set expectations, deliver one quick win or useful link. This doubles as your missed-lead reply for form contacts. - **Email 2: The problem you solve (day 2).** Show you understand their situation better than they can say it. No pitch yet. - **Email 3: Proof and how it works (day 4).** Explain your approach plainly. If you have a real result you can honestly describe, use it. Never invent one. - **Email 4: The invite (day 6–7).** One clear call to action: book a call, request a quote, reply. Make it easy. **Keep each email short.** Three to five short paragraphs. One idea. One link or button. People skim on phones. **Caution: customer data.** When you use AI to write these, describe your customer in general terms. Do not paste real names, real emails, or a real person's private details into an AI tool that isn't your private workspace. Feed the AI your business and your typical customer, not your contact list. **Use R.O.A.D. to brief the AI.** Role, Objective, Assets, Deliverable. Fill the brackets and paste this: ``` Role: You are an expert email copywriter for a small business. Write in a warm, plain, senior-operator voice. Short sentences. Avoid hype and fake urgency. Never invent statistics or testimonials. Objective: Write a 4-email welcome/nurture sequence for new contacts who just joined my list. Goal: build trust and get them to [book a call / request a quote / reply] by the last email. Assets: - My business: [what you do, in one sentence] - Who joins my list: [describe your typical customer, generally] - The main problem I solve for them: [the pain] - How I solve it: [your approach, plainly] - One true thing that builds trust: [a real result, guarantee, years in business, or credential (nothing invented)] - The one action I want them to take: [the CTA] Deliverable: 4 emails in this order: 1. Welcome (send immediately) 2. The problem I solve (day 2) 3. How it works + proof (day 4) 4. The invite with a clear CTA (day 6-7) For each: a subject line, 3-5 short paragraphs, and one CTA. Give me plain text I can paste. Flag anywhere I must insert a real detail so nothing is made up. ``` **Edit before you ship.** Read every line out loud. Cut anything that sounds like a robot or a brochure. Replace any placeholder with a true detail. If the AI wrote a claim you can't stand behind, delete it. **Worth the hour.** A sequence that runs forever, warming every new lead while you sleep, is one of the highest-return assets in your business. Write it once; it works on contact #1 and contact #1,000 the same way. **Next up, chapter 6: personalizing these emails at scale without leaking data or sounding fake.**
